How Dirty Is Your Laundry?

Does your laundry detergent say “if swallowed, drink plenty of water”?! Mine does! Two years ago when I was pregnant with Grayson, I remember carefully washing all my clothes with Dreft thinking I was doing something wonderful! Go to find out Dreft happens to be one of the worst detergents you can buy.  It is full of harmful chemicals and on the green scale it is rated F by the EWG.

Top Scoring Factors: “May contain ingredients with potential for developmental / endocrine / reproductive effects / respiratory effects”.

No thank you and yuck!

I know what you might be thinking, that bottle looks pretty small! Well, this small bottle will actually do 64 loads of laundry. Which is the equivalent to the large bottle of regular detergent we are used to buying. It just doesn’t need room for all the extra added chemicals. The scent is a mild citrus scent. Very clean smelling! It is a very mild  scent so it doesn’t have that perfumy cotton or meadow scent we are used to. What that means is there is no perfume in it, only the natural scent of a essential oils.

After washing my first load of laundry with Young Living Thieves Detergent I was pleasantly surprised at how much cleaner my laundry actually felt! No residue left behind!

One of the best things I have decided to do is starting to educate myself more on the products that I purchase. Knowing what is in everything we use makes a big difference on how we view our overall health.
